Gurgaon Hospitals: Beds, NABH Accreditation and Where They Are
By Aapt Dubey · Updated · 11 sources
Gurgaon's largest hospital is Medanta, The Medicity in Sector 38, with 1,440 installed beds including 316 ICU beds (December 2025). Artemis in Sector 51 has 700+ beds, and 20 hospitals in the city hold full NABH hospital accreditation as of October 2026. Public capacity is thin: the Civil Hospital in Sector 10 has 200 beds, and a planned 600-bed replacement was still stalled in October 2026.

How many beds do Gurgaon's biggest hospitals have?
Medanta, The Medicity in Sector 38 is the largest by a wide margin. Global Health Ltd, which runs it, reported 1,440 installed beds there, 316 of them ICU beds, as at 31 December 2025. The group as a whole had 3,633 installed beds across six cities by 31 March 2026, so the Gurugram campus is still about two fifths of Medanta.
Artemis Hospital in Sector 51 is next among the hospitals that publish a figure: its parent describes a 700+ bed quaternary care hospital accredited by JCI and NABH (February 2026). Narayana Superspeciality Hospital opened with 211 beds when Narayana Health commissioned it in 2017-18; the company has not published a newer Gurugram figure that we could find.
Fortis does not break out beds for Fortis Memorial Research Institute (FMRI) in Sector 44 in the filings we read. What it has said is telling: in May 2026 management said FMRI was running at 85% to 90% occupancy and 'facing bed shortage', and it is opening a new tower of 200+ beds in two phases. We have left FMRI out of the bed chart rather than guess.

Which hospitals in Gurgaon are NABH accredited?
NABH, the national accreditation board for hospitals, lists 20 Gurugram hospitals under its full Hospitals programme when you search its directory for Gurgaon and Gurugram (15 October 2026). The list includes Medanta, FMRI, Artemis, Paras, Max, Manipal (Palam Vihar), Narayana, both Park Hospitals, The Signature Hospital on Dwarka Expressway and Shalby Sanar on Golf Course Road.
The same search returns 4 entry-level hospitals, 18 small healthcare organisations (SHCO, typically smaller nursing homes and specialty units such as Cloudnine and Kalyani) and 79 entry-level SHCOs. Entry-level certification is a lighter standard than full accreditation, and it is worth knowing which one a hospital near you holds.
Accreditation is not a ranking, but it tells you a hospital has passed an external audit of its clinical and safety processes. For a family choosing where to live, a nearby hospital with full NABH accreditation and a 24-hour emergency department matters more than a famous name 40 minutes away.

Where Gurgaon's hospitals sit, corridor by corridor
The big tertiary hospitals cluster in the central belt from Sector 38 to the early 50s, around Golf Course Road and Sohna Road. Medanta (38), FMRI (44), Artemis (51), Paras (Sushant Lok 1) and Shalby Sanar (53) are all within a short drive of each other. That cluster followed the city's first phase of housing and offices and has stayed put as Gurgaon spread outwards.
Sohna Road has its own mid-sized accredited hospitals, Park Hospital in Sector 47 and Polaris in Sector 48. Palam Vihar has Manipal and a second Park Hospital. Dwarka Expressway and New Gurgaon are thinner: of the 20 fully accredited hospitals, three are in that part of the city (The Signature Hospital in 37D, Silverstreak in 87 and Aarvy in 90).
For Dwarka Expressway buyers, ANAROCK's 2026 report gives indicative drives from the expressway: Park Hospital Palam and Signature within 10 minutes, Medanta in 10 to 15 minutes via NH-48, and Manipal Sector 102 and Fortis Sector 44 in 15 to 20 minutes. Those are times from the road itself, not from a tower in Sector 109.

Government hospitals in Gurgaon
Public hospital capacity has not kept pace with the city. In August 2024 Gurugram's Chief Medical Officer described the Civil Hospital in Sector 10 as the sole government facility in the city, with patients sharing beds because of the space shortage. Its Principal Medical Officer put its strength at 200 beds including ICU, with admissions at times crossing 300 and about 3,000 patients visiting daily (November 2024).
The replacement has been slow. Haryana approved an 872-bed hospital with an outlay of ₹990 crore in August 2024. The project was later revised to 600 beds at ₹1,054 crore on the old Civil Lines site, and as of 12 October 2026 construction had still not begun, although ₹70 crore had been transferred to HSIIDC.
For most private buyers this does not change the decision, since they will use private hospitals. It does matter for domestic staff, elderly relatives on government schemes and anyone relying on a public emergency service.
What matters more than the nearest hospital
Ask how long it takes, at 2am and at 6pm, to reach a hospital with a 24-hour emergency department and an ICU. Clinics and diagnostic centres follow housing quickly; full emergency capability does not. Drive the route yourself once in traffic and once late at night.
Then check what your own society can do. Is there a doctor on call or a tie-up with a nearby hospital? Is there a defibrillator, and has anyone been trained on it? Can an ambulance reach the tower entrance without a long detour through gates and basements? Will a stretcher fit flat in the lift? Lift cabins in some towers cannot take one, which turns an evacuation from a high floor into a real problem.
Last, check your health insurance's cashless list against the hospitals near you. A hospital where your policy works cashless is worth more than one that is a few minutes closer.
How much weight to give hospitals when you buy
For households with elderly parents or someone with a chronic condition, distance to a tertiary hospital is close to as important as the office commute, and it should rule some locations out. That points to the central belt from Sector 38 to 56 and Golf Course Road, where Medanta, FMRI and Artemis sit.
Families with young children should find a paediatric emergency they trust and time that drive, because it is the one they will make most often. A healthy young couple can treat hospitals as a secondary factor behind commute, price and space.
Households change, though. Parents move in and children arrive. If you are buying in New Gurgaon, deep on Dwarka Expressway or along Sohna, know which hospital you would actually go to in an emergency and how long it takes, before you book.
Frequently asked questions
Medanta, The Medicity in Sector 38 had 1,440 installed beds, including 316 ICU beds, as at 31 December 2025, according to Global Health Ltd. It is the largest single hospital in Gurgaon.
Artemis Medicare Services describes its Sector 51 hospital as a 700+ bed quaternary care hospital accredited by JCI and NABH, in a release dated 2 February 2026.
Fortis does not state FMRI's bed count in the filings we read. In May 2026 management said FMRI was running at 85% to 90% occupancy, and it is adding a tower of 200+ beds, opening in two phases.
The main one is the Civil Hospital in Sector 10, which the district's Chief Medical Officer called the city's sole government facility in August 2024. It has 200 beds. A 600-bed replacement in Civil Lines, costed at ₹1,054 crore, had not started construction as of October 2026.
NABH's directory showed 20 Gurugram hospitals with full hospital accreditation on 15 October 2026, plus 4 entry-level hospitals, 18 small healthcare organisations and 79 entry-level small healthcare organisations.
There is no official ranking. Global Health Ltd says Newsweek named Medanta Gurugram India's best hospital and ranked it among the world's top 150 for the seventh year running (May 2026). For a home buyer, accreditation, emergency capability and drive time matter more than rankings.
The central belt from Sector 24 to 56, around Golf Course Road and Sohna Road, has 8 of the 20 fully NABH-accredited hospitals, including Medanta, FMRI, Artemis and Paras.
The Signature Hospital in Sector 37D is NABH accredited. ANAROCK (2026) puts Park Hospital Palam and Signature within 10 minutes of the expressway, Medanta at 10 to 15 minutes and Manipal Sector 102 and Fortis Sector 44 at 15 to 20 minutes.
How we compiled these figures
Bed counts come from company filings and releases: Global Health Ltd's investor presentation (installed beds at 31 December 2025) and May 2026 results release, Artemis Medicare's February 2026 release, Fortis earnings call transcripts of February and May 2026, and Narayana Health's FY18 results release. Fortis does not disclose FMRI beds separately, and Paras, Max, Manipal and CK Birla do not publish a Gurugram bed figure we could verify, so they are not charted. The NABH counts come from searching NABH's public directory for 'Gurgaon' and 'Gurugram' in Haryana on 15 October 2026 and de-duplicating by accreditation number; the area grouping is ours, based on listed addresses. Civil Hospital figures are officials quoted in The Tribune (2024) and Medical Dialogues (October 2026, citing Hindustan Times). Travel times are ANAROCK's indicative times from Dwarka Expressway. We could not reach Haryana health department or NHM district data for a current count of all public facilities. Updated quarterly.
